In the journey of life there are times when we need support, particularly if we are facing distressing experiences. My professional focus is on helping people find hope: to heal, energise, and grow from their struggles. I aim to provide a compassionate and safe environment for individuals, couples, and families to explore their concerns, become aware of inner strengths, and move forward to where they want to be in life.
My counselling work addresses a wide range of issues, including depression, stress, anxiety, self-esteem, anger, relationships, parenting, grief, and more. This individualised care is offered through online or face-to-face counselling for individuals, couples, and families.

I am a member of the Christian Counselling Association of Australia (CCAA) and registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). With a background in teaching and pastoral ministry, my experience has been in helping others develop, providing care, and supporting the social, emotional and spiritual needs of children, youth, and adults.
Stuart was amazing, always listening and supportive no matter what I had so say. He was great to communicate with and talk things over, giving me ways to deal with things. The sessions gave me more understanding with having lost life direction. I now feel as though I have purpose again.

We were looking for a male provider for our 13 yr old son as we wondered if it would make a difference as far as his willingness, engagement and connection - and it did on all three accounts.
We are so happy and grateful to have found Stuart. Stuart is calm, encouraging and practical. He has provided such practical help and tools, and revises it so my son has a better chance of remembering them and putting them into practice. They have covered a variety of areas and the sessions seem to follow a pattern so my son has a good idea of what to expect.

My husband and I did pre-marital counselling with Stuart. It was a really valuable experience. We both felt Stuart was extremely helpful in preparing us to have the healthiest marriage possible. Stuart is a very empathetic listener and made us both feel heard and understood, even when we had completely opposite perspectives. He helped us both to identify areas we can work on as individuals in order to be better partners to each other. Stuart also gave us very constructive advice and strategies for addressing conflict and communicating more effectively with each other, which we both feel has had a really positive effect on our relationship. For the record, I am an atheist (and Stuart is a Christian counsellor). I felt Stuart's approach stemmed from universal values such as kindness, patience and tolerance and his counselling is applicable to anyone, whether Christian or not. Overall I would very highly recommend him!

I have benefitted immensely from the support of 'Find Hope' Counselling. I received professional counselling from Stuart Conkie on areas of personal challenge and emotional distress following a devastating divorce and in pre-marital counselling with a new partner. Stuart is a counsellor who shows extraordinary empathy, insight and compassion. He is so good at explaining the things lying beyond the surface of relationships. The things we often can't see. He is also expert at giving the tools to try and constructively work on and improve relationships and personal responses to life's challenges. This gave me great understanding of myself and helped empower me to find a way forward when life seemed at times, quite overwhelming. He is a rare and wonderful counsellor whom I couldn't recommend more highly.
